Book: 'Never Grow Up' by Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan is the first action star I remember from my childhood. I know Bruce Lee and his fame but never seen his movies, coming to think of it, I do not remember if I have ever seen any one of his movie complete at all, to date. But I can remember so many scenes from my first Jackie Chan movie Who am I though I have never seen the movie after 1998.

Some funniest moments from my appraisal

I had my one-on-one meeting for 2012-13 appraisal this week. I was disappointed with the feedback given to me. Well, I have been _work_ing for very long time, and I know if you are not hurt then it is not an appraisal.
We received a lo..ong email from my manager couple of days before the one-on-one meeting, explaining his expectations from resources. A week after we submitted our self appraisal. Though unofficial first rule of appraisal is not to talk about appraisal, I couldn’t help myself from posting this.

Resolutions for 2012

For the first time in history, I am publishing resolution list online, let see if this helps.

  1. Shed at least 5kg weight
  2. The iPhone4s which can’t resist myself from buying should be the last gadget for the year.
  3. Donate the pile of books I’m keeping to the library
  4. Publish at least 2 iOS apps
  5. At least 2 mac apps
  6. Publish at least 5 prototype from my idea vault.
  7. Gift at least one device
  8. Author 5 library/codes on Github
  9. Gift/sell my other devices - Too many Apple devices 
  10. Learn a new language/Framework (Ruby, Coffeescript, Node?)
  11. Build at least 2 Html5 app/util
  12. A vacation? I didn’t leave home for almost 4 yrs.

Other than this there are quite a lot like perfect pitch training, learn a music instrument, painting etc., I carry from previous years.

Angry Birds – I give up

Angry Birds is one great app in Apple App Store that worth every penny (Full version is only $0.99)

I am not a great gamer, I give up on games too early. But this Angry Birds is one hell of a game (next to Road Rash & NFS II) that makes me addicted for a long time.

WWDC 2010 - iPhone 4

  • iPad didn’t replace common tasks. Steve was referring his notepad on stage:). Old habits die hard.
  • Steve can still memorize 24 countries and repeat them in the same order. Bravo! Good job Steve.
  • Yes, he appreciated Microsoft for their HTML5 demos.
  • Now the revenue will be shared  60-40%. 40% of iAd revenue to Apple.
  • Will FaceTime work if there are quite a few devices on the Wi-Fi network?
  • If FaceTime is Open, then H.264 and AAC too?
  • If the same front side glass was used in the back of iPhone 4, can we replace the backside glass for the front in case of damages to the front?
  • 29$ for bumb ( a band covers the antennas’). Come on Steve, let the poor guys live with the iPhone/iPad cover business.
  • FaceTime is open since it use many OpenSource tools & standards.
